17th District lawmakers to hold town hall meeting Dec. 9

OLYMPIA… Residents of the 17th Legislative District will have a chance to learn more about the upcoming 2018 legislative session in Olympia and interact with their legislators by attending a district town hall meeting on Saturday, Dec. 9.

The meeting, open to the public, will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Firstenburg Community Center, 700 NE 136th Ave. in Vancouver. The event is co-hosted by the 17th District’s legislative team, state Sen. Lynda Wilson, and state Reps. Paul Harris and Vicki Kraft, all R-Vancouver.

“The 2018 legislative session is only weeks away, and we want to encourage citizens in our district to attend our town hall meeting so they can get a preview of the issues the Senate’s new Democratic majority will be tackling this coming session,” said Wilson. “Representatives Harris, Kraft and I welcome questions from those attending the meeting, as well as chatting about issues we plan to work on in the coming session.”

“Town hall meetings are a valuable resource as the input of our constituents is essential to our work in the Legislature. I am hopeful people will take the opportunity to attend and ask questions or share concerns about the issues before us in the upcoming legislative session,” said Harris.

“Listening is the most powerful thing I can do as your state Representative. Town hall meetings give me the opportunity to meet with people directly and hear what they have to say,” said Kraft. “I encourage residents to come, share their ideas about state government and improvements they want to see made.”

The 2018 legislative session begins Jan. 8.
